Dubai Metro

The metro in Dubai is quick, clean, and cheap. Everything is automatic and it is one of the best ways to get around the city.

It is worth traveling in the front carriage, which has a glass window overlooking the city (except in Deira where the subway tracks are elevated) is a fantastic way to make the journey more enjoyable.

Although its coverage is quite limited, the two lines that the metro currently has are well designed:

Although its coverage is quite limited, the two lines that the metro currently has are well designed:

  • Red Line: Starts at Rashidiya, next to the airport and runs through Dubai from north to south as far as Jebel Ali. It stops at Burj Khalifa, the Emirates Mall, and Ibn Battuta Mall.
  • Green Line: Goes through the most important points of interest in Deira and Bur Dubai.

You can change between the two lines at two of the stations: Union Square and Bur Juman.
